Abstract

|
Obesity is a significant and growing health problem in industrialized societies and an important risk factor associated
with coronary artery disease such as hyperglycemia, hypertension and dyslipidemias. Many women experience
weight gain, increases in central adiposity and other changes in body composition around menopause. The
prevalence of overweight and obesity is even higher in postmenopausal women. The therapeutic approach for the
post-menopausal obese women should begin with a comprehensive assessment of obesity. In this review, medical
information of understanding obesity in menopausal women were summarized.
